FAQ’s
What is your service area?
Our main areas of service are Calgary, Cochrane, Bragg Creek, Priddis and Springbank, as well as the surrounding areas. If you are outside of that area but have a project contact us.
Are you insured?
Yes, we carry a full insurance policy that covers not only our vehicles and equipment but also property damage that could occur as a result of our services, however unlikely that may be, it is always better to be covered and not need it than to need coverage and not have it.
Are you covered by WCB?
Yes, all of our employees are covered by WCB.
Is my tree really dead?
This is a question that we encounter frequently. With a few exceptions (ie. a late-blooming tree after a severe winter) if a deciduous (leafy) tree has not leafed out in the summer months, there is a very good chance that it is dead. They do not hibernate for a season and then return the following year. If the tree is coniferous (evergreen) and all of the needles have turned brown, there is a very good chance that the tree is dead.
How do you know where the tree is going to go when you cut it down?
We have trained to evaluate each tree prior to starting work on it. We determine any lean that the tree may have, as well as evaluating where the majority of the branch weight appears to be. In addition to this, we inspect the tree for weakness, decay or any other physical compromise that may be present (ie. lightning strikes, insect or bird damage). Once the evaluation is complete we determine the best way to complete the project. Sometimes this will be to climb the tree and rig down pieces, sometimes our bucket truck is necessary. Other situations may require utilizing a guy rope to prevent a tree from falling to the side, or even a winch system to pull a tree over to the correct area. Whatever the solution is, we carefully analyze the situation in order to prevent any hazardous situation from occurring.
Why does it look like you are always muttering to yourselves?
We utilize in-helmet radios in order to maintain audible communication without the need to shout over long distances or noisy equipment, this is a vital component to both safety and workflow.
Are your estimates free?
Yes! In most cases, we will meet at your job location in order to assess your request and accurately determine a quote. As soon as the quote is accepted we will add the job to our schedule.
